Strictly speaking, it would appear that these are not official banknotes but they are included within the Krause SCWPM, albeit at the end of the People's Republic section, after the Miltary issues.

Also, although these are called Foreign Exchange Certificates, the text on the back says, "The yuan expressed in this certificate is equivalent in value to the Renminbi yuan. This certificate can only be used within China at designated places. No request to register its loss will be accepted by the Bank."

So I was just checking to make sure these will be permitted in the catalogue and if so, could a new currency be created for them please?

Rick,
Foreign Exchange Certificates warrant listing in the banknote catalogue, as they are a type of banknote.

In fact, quite a few countries had Foreign Exchange Certificates.

Have a read here; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_exchange_certificate .

Ghana was the only Commonwealth country that had Foreign Exchange Certificates - but they have NEVER been listed in any catalogue.

Thank you, when clicking the link there are no results displayed?

There are no results displayed because there are no Foreign Exchange Certificates currently listed under Exonumia--all are in the Banknote section.

Only the Numista Robot can move items from Banknotes to Exonumia, so I made a request to move all Foreign Exchange Certificates to their section under Exonumia (pending since April 8). Whenever the Robot gets to that request, that Exonumia section will be filled. :)

Does this apply to foreign exchange certificates in the Russian/soviet section as well?
