I have obtained this coin, which seems to be a 1 Pfenning from the Principality of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. It is similar to some of the other B-W 1 Pfenning coins in the Numista archive, such as KM#828, (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces85132.html) or KM#891 (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces50318.html). The main difference seems that the ruling prince is Ferdinand Albert, as can be read on the observe side. Ferdinand Albert II ruled only in 1735. I couldn't find whether there were 1 Pfenning coins struck during his short reign, anyone any idea ? Any reference to this coins ?
It should be Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel, Ferdinand Albrecht II., 1 Pfenning 1735, Schön (Deutscher Münzkatalog - 18. Jahrhundert)# 221. This type was only struck in 1735.
Dear Leitwolf,
thank you very much for your quick reply. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the Schön catalog – could you send me the information you have (e.g. a scan of the relevant page) so I can add the coin to the Numista catalog?
Many thanks again, and kind regards,
Maarten
