KU Lueven Silver Medal

I have a recently acquired silver medal from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.

It weighs 2.7 ounces and is 60mm in size.

Does anyone know if this has any value, what it was awarded for and how to determine the silver content.

I'm using the "natural light" type bulbs but I think I need to use a white, or perhaps black background as everything looks like it's copper. I know that the white light settings can be monkeyed around with but that's way beyond my meagre photographic paygrade.

The eBay listing with the single bidder... well that's me! Speculative buy, it was ending soon and had no bids so I'm thinking that a 2.7 ounce silver medal for $15 is a no-brainer.  Even if it's only .500 (I would expect better from one of the world's top universities) it's still 1.35 ounces of silver - a little over $40.

It's too beautiful a thing to be melted down though.
