Found on the beach in fl
So i have been able to narrow down the search significantly to a Mexico mint pre-Philip V. However, I've looked everywhere and can find nothing regarding an S assayer's mark. The mint mark is unreadable, it is clearly a cob shield and the two letters --GR--- can clearly be seen in the obverse legend, unique to Mexican mints it seems. There a just a couple things that are making it impossible for me to identify: the cross looks more like a Greek cross than a Florenzada, which would make it a potosi or lima mint. Yet NEITHER as far as I can tell used the full spelling of GRATIA in the legend... But it has all the proper location of elements of a Mexican mint, down to the words in the legend. Proper shield. Proper embellishments on the tails of the Rs...

Placez votre main sur un poêle une minute et ça vous semble durer une heure. Asseyez vous auprès d'une jolie fille une heure et ça vous semble durer une minute. C'est ça la relativité.
I have the same coin. I found it several years ago snorkeling can you tell me anything about this? We are not sure if it’s real or not. It was very deep down in a cave with sea Anemones and sea urchins.

Welcome to Numista.
Please start a new thread with clear photos of your example and provide some information about it. Weight, diameter, and composition if possible. This is the best way to get assistance from the members of Numista.

Not authentic.
How sad to learn the sea creatures need to resort to counterfeiting. 🙂
