Polymer £5 flaw already

Seeing £5 notes on eBay for stupid money is common but now there is another line of scams happening.

Notes likes this...

.....are being sold as errors ranging from the portrait to numbers removed. This has been achieved using a rubber eraser. Some people have been stupid enough to buy them for £100+
I know most here would not think twice to buy this, but it makes me kinda feel sorry for those who believe this is a real error and part with silly money for them.

I don't know if these people are stupid and got what they deserved for not looking into it first, or if I feel sorry for them being duped.

Either way, there sheer volume of scum doing this all over eBay by defacing coins or notes, then having no repercussions for doing a very clear illegal act of defacing British currency in such a brutal manner. Lack of action is no stranger to eBay but this really makes my blood boil from yet another corporation taking ridiculous amounts of money for pretty much doing nothing.

More than half of every population are idiots. Not really problem for you, unless somebody gives them right to vote for important things they know nothing about.

Same goes here, I do not really feel sorry. It is rather laughable.

I wonder if this "faceless queen" thing is being done to pander to anti-monarchist sentiments (I wouldn't dignify it by suggesting it forms a coherent theory of republicanism).
Its being done randomly, some the face, some the lettering or serial numbers. It really baffles me how a supposed polymer note is meant to be super tolerant to everything life can throw at it, I didn't for one second think the print is on the polymer surface, I imagined a laminate with the details protected. How embarrassing for the Royal Mint 8)

It is quite surprising that it could be erased so easily. Makes me want to try it on one of my Canadian notes to see if they have the same issue ("test in a discreet location first")...

They had the exact same issue with $5 notes a while ago I read up on google, not sure if it can still be done now but that is a good bet the idea has come from that.

Wow, more than 31.796 Numista members are idiots. I wonder if I am one of them.
