2 coins, possibly China or Vietnam [resuelto]

I hope someone can help me identify these 2 coins, brass I think. I noted 2 similar characters on the obverse of each and the one with the extra hole has reverse rotated so hole is diamond instead of square.

Weight of coin with extra hole is 2.57 g and other is 2.99 g
Diameter of each is 24.07 mm and each is 0.95 mm thick
