this says:
NOTE: varieties with or without diamonds on head are unconfirmed, smaller or larger ears.
Separated into Type A, B, C.

diamond on head is nonsense, the diamond(s) is/are between REPUBBLICA and ITALIANA. The bottom one below the head, above the signature, is missing on some coins
I haven't seen any difference in ear size yet, but I have three different types:

1990 with small diamond only at top:
Signature: GIANPAOLI INC. (close to rim)

1991,92,93,94 with two small diamond
Signature: GIANPAOLI-INC. (with clearly visible dash and dot)

1995 with two big diamonds, design with slightly higher profile
Signature: GIANPAOLI INC· (with thinner font, less well readable)

if you have any variant with small ear or 1995 without diamond, could you post a photo or tell us the differences?

I found the fourth type in my double coins

the "small ear" is actually an ear with small earlobe
now this is Type A, B, C, D:

it looks like on all four types, the thing on the head is from a different tree species!
