I see there is a very active thread about coins you just added to your collection so I think we should have a thread on banknotes.
I have not received any yet, but I am waiting for my Biafra 1 pound banknote.
This is what a have gotten this month. Sorry pic's not so great. Africa new Nigeria 5 naira 2013 P-38 polymer and Eritrea 1 nakfa P-1 1997
And two more Croatia notes 100'000 dinara 1993 and25 dinara 1991.
Nothing to fancy, But more in my collection.
I prefer coins to banknotes, but I couldn't resist picking up an unused set of these crazy hyperinflation notes from Zimbabwe (hopefully real!) and some unused "dead dictator" banknotes, mainly for the novelty factor:
Reminds me of Dr Evil in the first Austin Powers movie, lol.
On the right, Kim Il-sung, Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi.
Also a few random early German banknotes that I bought back in February, including a politically incorrect 5 Reichsmark note from 1942 promoting/idolising Aryan youth:
More Mexican pesos. My goal is to find every denomination in UNC because they look really nice - but I might skip the $1000 (because it's too expensive!). These uncirculated notes have big premiums on eBay - apparently you can't easily find good notes in Mexico, so luckily the people who run the currency exchange counter at the local auto association let me pick out a fresh one.
I wondered if this was a good investment or not, but older crisp Mexican notes also have high eBay prices so hopefully this series will also appreciate in value... and it's not like the Canadian dollar is a good investment these days either
I have also found some Mexican N$ notes from the previous series.
N$10, 1992 - replaced by a coin, featuring Emiliano Zapata.
I just moved to Qatar and there are a lot of Philipines and Nepalis at my workplace. So have got 2 Philipine notes and Nepali notes hopefully by next week. :)
Just bought for €4 (excl. shipping): 5000 Malagasy ariary / 25000 Malagasy francs, 5 old Belarusian roubles, 100000 old Turkish lira, 3X 1000 Italian lira and 500 Italian lira (old banknotes). And €2 for a 1000 drachmai printed in 1941.

Cita: kundikYou can add transnistrian note to your collection soon! ;)
Thanks that'll expand my collection.
Right now I'm studying what means hyperinflation
Just a riddle (without goggle of course) to aprehend what is hyperinflation:
Between october 1st 1993 and Jan. 24th 1994, due to the Bosnian war, the Croatian war and some other economic reasons, the Yugoslavian Dinar has experienced the most severe inflation phase ever seen in the world.
In your opinion what was the commodity prices increase (in percentage) during these 4 months ?
Lets try a figure

Seems nice. But they can be right as there are lots of CSA counterfeit notes on circulation. Better to expertize it.
