Hello everyone.

In a month I'm going to Budapest, Hungary to spend my vacation.
Does anyone know a coin shop there ?
I would appreciate if you could give me details where to find it.

Best Regards Levi
I'm just back from Budapest...and a coin shop was nearby where I stayed.

Arpad Erembolt
Jókai utca 18

Not really cheap though(western Europe prices), and most of the coins are listed online on it's website. I did not find any bargains and only came away with one coin of Reunion which I paid more than it's real value for.

At the Great Market Hall, in the middle of the upstairs floor is a trader with some Russian coins and memorabilia. Since everything was totally overpriced in the market, I didn't even bother to ask. Probably lots of coins selling shops in Budapest, but these are the only instances I found.

Anyhow, Budapest is really fantastic, so have a great time. I did, I've got a t-shirt to prove it!
Ok.Thank you! Scotty

No, Western European prices would be higher, which is why you would say a shop has "Western European prices" (i.e. don't bother).

And - every good little boy knows that Hungary is in Central Europe!! (;0

If it's past Austria, Italy, or Germany, to me it's eastern.

You have any ideas?

I've added the one from Budapest listed above already.
Coin shops in Budapest are overpriced, I don't recommend them. However, the Hungarian Numismatic Society holds a coin-event once a week on Tuesdays where you can buy and sell. Usually there are a lot of sellers, and if you are lucky, you can find good deals.

TUESDAY 14:00-17:00 (you should go there when it opens at 14:00)
Budapest, VI. Vörösmarty u. 65. 1st floor

Thanks, I added that one too.

Im from Hungary and Árpád érme bolt is very good you can buy roman empire coins  for just a couple thousand forints, it's really worth it

Unfortunately, the first post was almost 11 years ago, and the last one was 7 years ago
