Mostly European coins between 50's and 90's,collection of early 20th C UK coins, and Commemorative UNC united kingdom coins. A few early examples from other nations too.
Collection no longer wanted, and open to offers to pass these onto to a better home.
I also have a 19.Januar 1922 10,000 Reichsbanknote, in reasonable condition, with serial 2G.181824.
This can be added to the collection.
My collection has been entered into this websites database, so you can see all the coins in the collection from my profile page I think. Or I have them as an excel database file, I could email this to you if you are having problems seeing them.
There are aprox 45coins, it is a small collection, better to be added to another, that my grand father had compiled, probably not very valuable but I would rather it went to a better home.
Most of the coins are in good condition, a few with original lustre, and most have 90-100% of the detail remaining. The 4/5 commemorative UK coins are all in perfect uncirculated condition.
There are a few nice early 20th C coins, half pennies, silver maundy threepence etc.
Take a look at the coins in the database and let me know what you think.
Can ship to anywhere within the UK via recorded delivery
There is quite a bit of overlap with my own collection, so there are only a few coins that would add to my ranks. If it were up to me, I'd pick and choose the ones I wanted, but I'd take the whole lot if you insist on selling them as a set. There's always the chance that one of the duplicates would be an upgrade specimen.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but those commeorative crowns are being sold at my local BNA member coin dealer for £2.50 each. That's a retail price, you could expect tp pay half that at an auction or a fair. The other coins are of little monetary value, though to some people of great social interest - the Maundy threepence may be a little more interesting.
You may be better off finding a local child who wants to collect coins and donating the collection to them. At least you know they will go to a good home and not to a shark.
Ryan - I would ideally want them to go as a whole set, I dont want to have to go through process of selling each item individually, and as i know most are probably only of social interest, I feel they would be best as a job lot, for whatever use one may get out of them.
I am willing initially to ship to the US, however am concerned that fees may be higher than the value of the collection - however I will look into this. But this does depend on what your willing to offer? and the time frame, as shipping via seafreight would be cheapest but take a few weeks.
Matt - No worries, thats not bad news. I have checked the valuations and thats about what I reckon too. I'm not about to go to the lengths of an auction or fair, as I dont think its worth it. Also am not about to give them away, if no-one wants the lot, then I will either keep them or deal direct with a dealer near me, who I have an offer from already. I just thought I'd see if anyone on here might see something they wanted or anything of more interest for them and make me an offer.
