Newcastle United Football Club
My country is the ever-frustrating England. No matter what sport, they always make it hard for themselves.
This year I will also be supporting our Overseas Territory of Gibraltar in their first endeavour into International football. They were allowed by UEFA to play as a country on my birthday and I have always felt an attraction to the place (hence my collection).
There is the worst face of this beautiful sport: business. Now everything is about business, I hope that Newcastle get recovered someday, back to those good days. But as long as they do not descend to the Football Championship is ok... you know
I'm glad to know that Gibraltar is now part of the European Football, it is a small territory but I believe they could improve their football now they are included in the UEFA's competitions, such as the newest Nations League!! Hopefully they will be part of FIFA someday
England has a smooth group in Brazil! they'll do it easy to get to the next stage, I'm pretty sure about that.
It looks like our arch-rivals Sunderland are surely heading towards the championship to play alongside our region's 3rd biggest club Middlesbrough.
I had hoped Arsenal would win the league this year after the way they played but they have been a shadow of themselves recently now I'm hoping Liverpool win. Because they are a proper footballing team that hasn't tried to just buy the league !

No, haha Chelsea aren't being torn apart. We lost our multi-millionaire local lad to the sports direct businessman mike Ashley thinking he would then throw loads of money into the team. That never happened and he's always making decisions that make us a laughing stock. Like renaming our stadium. Having us sponsored by Wonga etc
Croatian national league is not so popular any more because You can't watch it. It is stupid and now nobody is watching that any more. That is why I will put only Croatian national team. We are also waiting for Brazil and hopefully, we will be going to the next round with Brazil.
Cita: EddievBMy team is Arsenal F.C. from London. They're on their way to win the FA Cup for the first time since in believe 2005.
My country is The Netherlands. Second place in 2010 but they're gonna suck this year! Such a bad team. I'm still supporting them though!
My favourite team is also Arsenal. I follow them since late 1990s.
It was hoped in Chrismas that they will win the league title this season, but now are struggling for a position in CL next year. Poor old them. But it's their habbit now

Your national team was so good in World Cup 1998. I was amazed then when they ended at 3rd place.
I think Croatia is still always among top 10 of Europe?

Well, actually everybody were amazed. Nobody had expected that. At the moment Croatia is not in top 10 because we were in extra qualifications for Brazil. Before a year (or two) Croatia was even third or fourth.
But the problem is that every Croatian football player plays excellent match with his club (Luka Modric-Real Madrid, Mario Mandzukic-Bayern) and when he plays for the national team it is like he has no interest at all. Actually, we always play very bad in qualifications but on the tournament, we play excellent.
Weird, isn't it?

Im absolutely crazy about football, I even watch the Africa Cup and follow almost every game of Bundesliga and Premier League.
The Team that I support: VFB STUTTGART
Unfortunatelly Since I don´t live in Germany anymore its not possible for me to support my Team in the Mercedes Benz Arena. Its been a terrible year this season and we are now fighting to not go into second division.
And the National Team I support is of course GERMANY it was a long time scince we last won a World Cup so I hope this is going to be that year.

Not enough money to travel to Brazil, I can assist only by TV
I only follow the Twente FC due to a mexican footballer that plays there: Jesús Corona "Tecatito". They are having a good season, but not as good as Ajax, indeed.
I started following football around 1998 or maybe a bit earlier and I have been supporter of Chelsea ever since.
I do not know what was it exactly that drew me to them in the first place, but somehow I picked them out of all of them and I wouldn't change them for anyone!!!
I am not as passionate about national teams, but I would like to see Estonia, Ireland, and England do well in their games.
I'm fan of Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd, for my own country. I currently live in the Netherlands, here I support Groningen, Cambuur and Heerenveen. Well as long as they don't compete with a youth team in our National First league.

Cita: ramonmexObviously my national team, just waiting for Brazil 2014 (beware Cameroon, Croatia and Brazil) !!!
And who did they beat to get there? Poor little New Zealand
It's a pity for New Zealand and for the OFC too, now that they do not have any representative in Brazil. But the worst thing for NZ and OFC is that they do not have a complete ticket for World Cups, the FIFA should be more cool with Oceania instead of filtering them with an Intercontinental match.
The problem for OFC is that if New Zealand leaves, they will have no chances to qualify to a World Cup! NZ is the remaining power from Oceania, they play a good role when qualifying, so it is not convenient for them to let NZ go just as aussies did...
Otherwise, you can say that NZ is paying the Australian debt to OFC
I just found this old topic, and I would like to share my favorite clubs too In Hungary:
MTK Budapest, one of the most successful football club in Hungary, although the past brighter than the present, we are newly promoted to the top level of the Hungarian Football League, currently on the 3rd place.
My other favourite team: Tottenham Hotspur from London :)

This is my Team ... Leeds United - I have supported them since I was 6 years old, that was 1962. When I lived in England I used to go watch them as a very young boy.
Back in the Premier League after a 16 year exile they are doing ok and playing entertaining football with Argentinian Marcella Bielsa as Manager/coach.

I enjoy watching football, but I really don't have a favourite team. I watch the world cup, and apreciate a good game, bo matter the teams. But to clntribute, I'll add my hometown team. Well, we have several, but if I had to choose, I'd go for IFK Göteborg – more known as IFK. "Blåvitt" (blue-white) or Änglarna (The Angels).
Silver coins were among the first coins ever used, thousands of years ago. The silver standard was used for centuries in many places of the world. And the use of silver for coins, instead of other materials, has many reasons.
I love soccer (er' I mean "football") but have no real favourite team. I just love watching the games & will never forget watching Germany beat Argentina 1-0 in 2014 World Cup nail-biter as I was in a Leipzig beer garden at the time.
Any Manchester City fans on here? Awesome game last week where Leeds United, newly promoted from the Championship (Second division), with 10 men for the whole second half and a team worth around €70 million at most, managed to beat the prospective champions of the Premier League with a team worth around €1 billion. How sweet it was.

Thanks for the 6 points this year Mike. They are greatly appreciated.
Cita: "brismike"No worries ellemerob .. You were very lucky. How many points did you take off Man Shitty haha.
They could not beat Leeds in two games.
Watch out Cesspool you are next.
We were lucky in the second game. Bamford should have had a hat-trick.
Drew and lost 2-1 against City but that is extraordinary given West Ham's recent record against them.
Do us a great favour, beat Liverpool or even draw and give us a bit of breathing space in the top 4. I never imagined West Ham in the Champions League. You, of course, have experienced that already.
Anyway I do think the majority of proper football fans were delighted to see Leeds back in the premiership. My poor brother is another long suffering Leeds fan.
Cita: "brismike"Very funny guys .. I am sure you know that Leeds United have one of the biggest following of any club in the UK.
Being a one club city in the 3rd largest city in the UK helps.
When fans were allowed into stadiums they regularly took over 5,000 to away games when they were in the Championship.
They also have a massive fanbase world wide with many supporters clubs all over the world.
Will be awesome when fans are allowed back in stadiums to hear the Leeds boys singing "Marching on Together".
Cheers and good luck with whoever your team is playing this weekend . . exceprt for Cesspool of course.
Mike
Already a downer, Mike. Lost 3-2 to Newcastle, of all teams. Genuine good luck to Leeds against Liverpool though.

Yes , I’m a Man City fan but it was still a rlly good performance from Leeds . Unfortunately , it came too late as Man City are leading by 8 points at the top of the table , All Man City needs is to be consistent for the next 3-4 matches . Anyone watching the champions league semi- finals?

Ya, It is a huge feat.
*Sad news*
Man City and other huge teams have decided to make their own European " Super League”. It is very sad. Liverpool have already left The ECA (European Club Association) which means that they no longer can participate in UEFA competions. If other clubs follow suit, the ESL would be a huge money churner and The UCL would be worthless.
This is the worst thing that has happened to Football 😔😔

Great to see United playing so well. Two-one down at half-time to AS Roma. Won six-two. A wonderful second-half performance. Repeat performance in the second leg please.

Well hopefully Man City will win the Champions League, I really hope they do, they deserve to win it.
But who is the only team they have been unable to beat in the last year, and actually managed to beat them at their own ground with only 10 men in half of the game? LUFC ... Leeds United of course.
Actually in the eyes of all Leeds supporters they are still the Champions of Europe. Just google "WACCOE".
Goes back to when they were cheated out of the 1975 European Cuo Final in Paris by a bent referee and Franz Beckenbauer the Bayern Munich captain.

1975. Isn't that the year West Ham won the F.A. Cup, Mike? The year I jumped on the bandwagon.
Cita: "Goutham Sivasailam"Brismike must be fuming after City THRASHED them 7-0.
Not fuming, I will always support my home team where I was born. It was expected that Leeds would struggle to beat the Champions elect. After all the City team is valued at close to 1 billion pounds and Leeds would barely push 150 million. Not only that we had our 5 best players out Injured and had to field 5 under 23 players.
And only 3 days before we pushed Chelsea to the limit, they only beat us by a dodgy penalty in the 93rd minute.
Man City had a point to prove too after being humbled to a home defeat by a 10 man Leeds last season.

My late brother was born in Chapeltown in the mid 1950s, and was always a great Leeds and Celtic supporter - he was a bit torn over the European Cup semi-final in 1970!
Despite being born in Brighton, and having a soft spot for B&H Albion, Crystal Palace, Leyton Orient and AFC Wimbledon, having lived in Scotland for 61 years, my team is the mighty Partick Thistle!
Living in the shadow of Glasgow Rangers and Celtic is not easy for the Jags' fan, we are the butt of many a joke, but it makes for resilient fans who are well versed in adversity!
Our most famous hour came in 1971 when we humbled the mighty Celtic (Dalglish and all) 4-1 in the Scottish League Cup Final - our last major trophy to date!
Happy with Scotland's group. We've played Brazil 3 times before at World Cups - 1 draw and 2 defeats. Expect Brazil to win the group, but good chance to progress as 2nd or best placed third. Get off to a good start against Haiti, and take something from game with Morocco should be enough to get out of the group stage for thr first time ever!
Group draw results are in for the World Cup next year! Thoughts?
I think all the Groups are pretty even. Anyone can get out of any of those Groups. There are always surprise results at the World Cup though. England won't bring it home again though.
Cheers Mike

Especially with the new knockout format including the best 8 third place teams. As much as I think the knockout stage will be diluted, I don't mind seeing countries reach new heights
They're good, but I don't think that they have either the energy or, the effort to repeat their performance from 2022. Morocco on the other hand, are showing signs that they can compete with the likes of European superpowers like Spain or France, making them “dangerous competition”.

I would like to once again thank @brismike for being ahead of this stuff, I didn't know this existed until 2 hours ago! Once more, the Australian mint is releasing a special $2 dollar coin celebrating the women's football team of Australia! As of the time date on this post (and some eBay research, too) the coin is not yet released for the public, but pre-orders are available! Comes in two forms of packaging, coin card and a special box (which is more expensive). Available either tomorrow or on March 1st. Happy hunting! ⚽
I bet every Italian football fan must have woken up today thinking that Italy not qualifying for a 3rd successive World Cup must be the worst April Fools prank ever! But it is true, I have heard talk that FIFA has already changed the 2030 World Cup to include 96 teams just so Italy can qualify 😉
„If your reply or post in the Forum stinks of AI, I will call you out! Knowledge comes from experience, the I in AI stands for incompetence.“
What's the betting on Scotland not making one of the 8 best third placed teams, probably on goal difference, and not progressing yet again? We've got Brazil and the African champions Morocco, but will probably lose to Haiti knowing our record!
As of this post, there seems to be news of Portugal releasing a circulating commemorative celebrating the World Cup this year! Funny, I remember months ago that they wouldn't do one, so LOL! Anyway the release date for them will be May 12, 2026! So less than 24 hours from now, you will see them circulating on eBay search results and on other sites! So far, in terms of gold and silver variants, they have yet to be announced. Get them while they're hot, and happy hunting! ⚽ Here's what it looks like if you're curious:
Less than 24 hours ago, the Royal Canadian Mint has finally released the $1 loonie to the general public! Surprisingly, Numista has already got them in the catalog already, so get them while they're hot! Happy hunting! ⚽🔥
