Hello,

these three coins from Ghana (5 Pesewas, 10 Pesewas, 20 Pesewas) are all listed as "Copper-nickel". But all three coins are magnetic. I suppose that they are made of stainless steel, but it could also be Nickel-plated steel or something else. Can anybody check and modify?

Well spotted, I've checked my Krause which has confirmed they are Nickel clad Steel. You will need to make a modification request on each of the Numista pages for the admin to be able to verify them.

Thanks!

By the way - is there a simple way to identify if a coin is stainless steel or nickel-clad steel?

Stainless Steel should be non-magnetic

I do not think so. I know, "real" stainless steel should be non-magnetic, but there are also alloys called stainless steel which are magnetic. And I guess for coins usually these (cheaper) alloys are used.

I checked some coins made of stainless steel in my collection, and all of them are magnetic.
