I live in the US, and I should have received a couple of envelopes of coins by now (from a reliable swapper) that were sent from France during our so-called "government shutdown" (i.e. where they kept collecting taxes, kept spending money like drunken fools, but shut down many useful services). After 6 weeks, I'm wondering whether the coins are lost forever or just in a backlog bin over at US customs somewhere, to be delivered whenever TF they feel like it.
Did anyone else notice incoming shipment delays to the US during the shutdown?
I don't believe the shutdown effected the postal service, don't know about customs. I had one package going to Sweden at that time. Made it just fine. Then again I have something from Greece, and its been quite some time.

Well to be true, I'm still waiting for a letter/swap from the USA.
Both letters/coins from Holland did arrived in September 2013 (they're already been rated), but the second letter from the USA to Holland is still yet to come.
Well one of my package I sent to my Canadian swapping partner is yet to reach him (been 7 weeks now!). This is the 1st time for me that a package is taking so long to reach Canada. Not sure if it's related to Govt. shutdown or mere coincidence. I called up USPS and they said they have no idea, as it was sent unregistered.

Cita: PajaSkotI had several international swaps and they were all OK, with no problems.
I'll wait another couple of weeks before finishing the swap with an awful rating. Some how I do believe that the other side did send me the coins involved in the swap.
There is some silver involved, but the silver value isn't that much.
