My name is Brandon and I am fairly new to this site and to coin collecting. My collection is small and pretty limited to just what I get as change from buying my groceries. I once got a '37 buffalo nickel from a McDonald's...
ANYWAY
I would like to expand my collection by trading my Stauer '33 Model Graves Automatic. It features day, date, month, military, day cycle, original leather strap, stainless case, and glass back showing the mechanics. If you're interested we can figure out a watch:coin value. I can send more pictures, vids and and answer any questions to help verify the watch. I personally love auto winding watches, but it don't fit my large wrist and I don't want to purchase a larger strap. I think that kinda takes away from its value. I have done some research and I find that the glass back on the stainless case is not common.
Message me or reply with what you think is a fair trade. I'd like to get some harder-to-find American coins, or some foreign coins that really catch my eye.
Hey monephil, your collection is impressive. I'm am a beginner and I was nearly overwhelmed looking at all the coins you have, and others.
But I have to let everyone know I have a confirmed swap worked out with a fellow member. He lives over here in the States so shipping will be much cheaper.
THANK YOU ALL AGAIN, especially monephil and Cerulean
Heads or tails? I dunno. I don't see a head or a tail...
You gotta watch out for this type of crime. The crook walked away with nearly 200 coins from 45 countries, and the victim was left to suffer with a stylish watch on his wrist.
Seriously, I was a newbie that didn't have an established collection to trade from or any extra cash. I simply found a person interested in watches that was willing to trade for some coins.
What's the harm in that?

I'll get something clear I said earlier. I said I "was" a a newbie. I only have a couple swaps under my belt so I'm still new.
So there's is an unspoken rule that coins can't be used to "buy" stuff in this site? I think its great that demonetized coins can be used to get something you want. And many of the coins I received had little value, except for the fact I wanted them. Supply and demand, I had a watch to get some coins, simple.
The person I swapped with said this:

A very casual person to speak with. Great communication and came to a deal quickly. The watch sent is wonderful. I highly recommend this trader and hope his collection continues to grow. Thanks.

For someone new and honest and low on cash and has no swappable coins, it's fine to offer something other people want. it's not like he is blowing up the forum with stuffed animals and old picture frames. I am glad to see someone new here. We need to welcome and encourage new people.
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!
I would have liked the watch! But I didn't have time for a swap! I hope you got some good coins out of it!
No foul play! Unusual, but fine.
Time to watch the rest of the forum.

I agree and also respect the decision to swap with someone locally, postage cost and integrity could not have been questioned. I was tempted.
People, this is completely uncalled for to be roasting him for trading a watch (The one I received.) I think I can speak for most of us in saying that we all wish to expand our collections. This is all he was doing. Yes I understand this site is for the most part designated for coins but as a previous person said there are other things besides coins being traded here besides coins such as notes, stamps and medals.
There should also be a punishment for accepting a watch on a coin forum. Send it to me, until we can figure out what to do with you two, for nonconformity.
I got something else that might interest some of you. This may belong in another forum so if you think so let me know
I have 29 Crown Royal bags. These are for the 5th I think. I don't drink but I collect them as often as I can. They are 8.5x5.5x2.5 They're good for bulk coins and practically anything else for storage. I would guess they can hold up to 5 pounds of bulk coins. It can fit a Small Flat Rate Box from the Post Office, if that gives you a relative idea how big they are
Let me know if you're interested. I would only be able to ship to the continental US.
