The 3 pillars don't look like the castle you see on 16th century coppers/cobs. 

 

It might just be my eyes

 

If someone could ID it, it would be much appreciated

 

 What is the diameter? 

Is the other side not shown as it is so worn? 

 First thought was San Marino with the three towers - 

but they have no round (irregular) coins.

 Thanks. With those three tall items, perhaps they are 

standing people with small legs - was another thought. 

 

 

 Though that is now wrong as no lion on reverse - 

and anyway no mint [Tiberias] letter below …

I can assure you it's not Byzantine/Eastern Roman. It's definitely early modern European but idk what exactly it is. Either billon or copper with an A at the bottom (of pic 1)

Probably some kind of 8? Maravedis but the castles looks different to the ones in the catalog.
