With that said, meh. Its only a couple seconds. What does it matter?
If you can state a better way to curb the current bot incursions we can probably get rid of the captcha. For the second one simply keep the Numista page Cookies with an exception if you are routinely clearing all browser cookies so you don't get asked multiple times.

So can Xavier confirm this is an official thing …
as I refuse to click on anything - including this - until I know it is genuine. 😇
Thanks - I now went to that page, and as soon as I
clicked on that highlighted link, the displayed box appeared.
So it looks like it is official - and not some virus and so on …
I now also see it is on the French site
but it is written in English. So do French members even see it -
and if so is it in French?
In my opinion we should keep the captchas as they protect the site.
But please tone them down a bit, I’ve gotten about 10 just today! Two of them came less than a minute apart, It’s starting to get extremely annoying as this has been going on for about three days now.
Also I have not seen the privacy policy thing at all except for when I log in.
you guys must have weird browsers, I accepted the cookies or whatever many many months ago once and it's never came up since. I also never get captchas either.
I've only gotten about 3 Captcha tests since the last few weeks

Or turned on do not track settings or similar in the settings of said browser
Alright this is getting extremely annoying, just got 4 captchas in about 5 minutes.
Is numista having some sort of bot invasion?
That is weird, I will call a cavalry on that. @dzmitry.huletski / @Xavier

Do you use the go back arrow often? If you had a captcha an then click and go on and afterwards you click on the go back arrow you'll pass that captcha page again. And then it's not a new one but one you already had.

No, I noticed that I’d have to do the captcha again if I pressed the back arrow a while ago. All of those four were without the back arrow being used at all.
Yesterday I was in the middle of a long forum reply and the captcha showed up. I clicked the “I'm not a robot” and my partially written post disappeared.
Some sites sometimes send me an email warning that a connection has been made to my account because it did not recognize my device and my location, I have to report if it is not me.
They regularly record and verify this information and between two checks I am quiet
My computer won't move from my house
Hello,
I understand the captcha is annoying, but it's really the only way we found to protect the website against bot attacks. I just made an adjustment so that it is better targeted and you should see the captcha less often.
The GDPR consent modal is new from our recent change of ad solution (aiming at improving the quality of the ads). It replaces the previous consent banner. I just adjusted it so that there is a clear Reject button and it can show in other languages than English.
Your choice is saved, so you should not see it at every visit (though you can still change your choice on the privacy page).
The bot attack problem is getting worse. Since the creation of AI scrapers, web sites with forums or rich content are under constant heavy attack from bots. Even with cloudflare protection the bots are draining resources, with over a million hits per day getting through.
Captchas and manual challenges are the best line of defence we have left.
