I submitted  Register an example of this type pictures. It was rejected because “There is already a sample for the same year in a better condition and your sample hasn't any particularity.”

If only one is allowed I suggest that rule should be changed.

Never mind. I found the Referees Guidelines for examples How do referees validate examples? which states:

Scope. All examples are welcome. Examples can be used to illustrate different varieties, conservation states, post-mint damages, chopmarks, fake items, or just different examples of the same type.

So the answer is multiple ones are already allowed.

They should at least have a different grade so you can look at wear patterns etc., for example I wouldn't allow a dozen UNC coins TBH.

I agree. I already dislike how some have loads of auction encased coins!

I detest slabs - for both banknotes & coins!

Those are usually auctions not examples from users though.

Just to be clear, for the one my submission was rejected there were no year line examples. This coin had only one year line.  The existing example the referee was referring to was the main picture for the coin page which was a high grade MS example. Mine is VF grade.

What would be a better feature that I sure I've seen requested somewhere is that the main image can be interchangeable with a year line so that we don't lose images when main page image is changed.

As you say, there is no reason to reject your example.

🤔 Your topic is marked “suggesting an idea to improve Numista”. What is the suggestion?

Wanted & swap list (euro coins & world coins, exonumia and banknotes circulated) https://goo.gl/AQjfKp - I have euro & world CC coins for swap.

The suggestion is stated in my first post. I am leaving it as a suggestion to force someone from Admin, Master Refs or above to give an answer (eventually).

There is no suggestion needed, the rules are OK and your image was wrongly rejected. I guess you can appeal the rejection?

Just call me Bram

No new swaps for the moment, still too many half-ongoing swaps to clean up!

Already did. Just wanted to get some visibility that there are referees that don't understand the intent of  the Register an example of this type function.

For modern coins, I believe one per grade is usually enough. That said, there can be errors, fakes, different tonings etc.

For older coins, examples are much more important, as they can show parts of the design/lettering that are not visible.

Then change the guidelines to state that.
