Having a database with more than 20000 coins and its metal composition I would like to have your opinion about this suggestion. I found that coins metal composition not always is the most correct and it seems that there is a lack of information regarding this topic. I hope this can contribute to having more accurante metal composition classification.

Aluminium-bronze: 0.5-8Al 85-95Cu 2-6Ni

Aluminium-light-copper: 50-100Al 0.5-49Cu 0Ni (suggestion for some specific coins, ex. Bulgaria's KM# 35 or KM# 36)

Copper: 99-100Cu

Copper-nckel: 69-85Cu 15-31Ni 0Zn

Manganese-brass: 75-90Cu 3-7Mn 6-12Zn (US 1 dollars KM# 310 onwards)

Nickel-brass: 0Al 50-90Cu 0Mn 0.5-10Ni 0.5-40Zn

Nickel-silver: 55-75Cu 11-30Ni 8-26Zn (white coins, different from nickel-brass that are yellow)

Nickel: 99-100Ni

Silver: 50-100Ag

Zinc: 95-100Zn

For cladding or platting coins the suggestion should be applied to the outer composition, adding “clad” or “plated” “specific metal” as already is made.

I collect circulating coins from around the world and from the middle XIX century to ourdays.
