Hello, i have this rare 1905 R Vittorio Emanuele III 20 Lire gold coin with mintage of 8 715 . But it is pretty damaged. There are some marks on the obverse side and some rim damage on reverse side.

So question is how much will this damage affect numismatic value of coin because it is a rare coin and in good condition it has some premium? And if it get graded it will probably get "damaged" and not grade? When coin is looked with bare eye this damage is not looking that bad, so don't want to sell it because i like this coin but I want to learn how much damage like this affect rare coin like this.

It's a very rare coin and I can only say your coin has beads (not touching the rim), the coin on Numista has denticles. Besides the amount of beads on your coin doesn't match with the amount of denticles on Numista's coin.

Thank you for your answer. Never would notice such details. Does this mean that this one is not real?

Compare to a NGC certified example. It would be helpful to provide larger photos, and the weight and diameter of your example.

The NGC coin has 21 denticles between N and D, just as much as the coin on the Numista page from Heritage Auctions (N#21247), your has 23:

Thank you wery much for your answers.

Yes i understand difference now, i am beginer in this coins because i was collecting bullion coins, but got more interested for one with numismatics because is fun to have 100+ years old coin. And they look really nice.

Here are better pictures but i see beads and denticles difference. Also yes there is big difference in amount of them. That one on Numista has around 20 less than mine.

Weight is 6,38g. But scale and calipers are not best quality.
