Hello:

I have in mind I already posted this request, but I can't find the post (maybe my brain is more damaged than I thought 🤔) .

Please modify Dominican Republic currencies, to fit the correct ones:
Current list:

- Peso (1844-1905)

- Franco (1891)

- Peso Oro (1937-hoy);

Corrected list:

- Peso Real System (1844-1877)

- Peso Decimal System (1877-1905)

- Franco (1891)

- Dollar U.S.A. (1905-1937)

- Peso Oro (1937-2009)/Peso Dominicano (2011-date) (only changed name, not currency reform).

Notes:

1) Peso (1844-1905) must be split cause was changed fraction/higher values from Real system (1 Peso= 8 Reales) to decimalized (1 Peso= 100 Céntimos).

2) Franco is OK, no need of change.

3) Dollar U.S.A. was used from 1905 to 1937, in Dominican notes; this currency is missing, and sincerely, I don't know if must be part of Dominican currencies, or how to manage it.
4) On 2009 was decided the modification of the currency name form “Peso Oro” to Peso Dominicano", not a reform, cause 1 Peso Oro=1 peso Dominicano, neither fractions changed. I think instead of split, is better to include both names, with specification of dates. same as was done at Peru ("Nuevo Sol/Sol"). Please also note some coins just show “Peso”, without “Oro” nor “Dominicano”.

Poking @vladthiengo as I have already discussed the point with him, and @Jamtrup as he reminded me the issue.

Thanks in advance for cooperation.

Hi Daniel! Yes, I remember we talked about this a few weeks ago. =)

I'll just ask @Jarcekto take a look, as this would also affect the coin catalog of this issuer. For the banknotes, I agree with the division you proposed, Daniel.

No problem to do this.

It looks like only a handful of coins will change with the Peso (Reale) - Peso (Decimal) split.

Update:

"Corrected list:

- Peso Real System (1844-1877)  Complete and 5 coins moved to this currency

- Peso Decimal System (1877-1905)  Renaming complete

- Franco (1891)  No change

- Dollar U.S.A. (1905-1937)

- Peso Oro (1937-2009)/Peso Dominicano (2011-date) (only changed name, not currency reform).  Renaming complete

For the currency Dollar U.S.A. for banknotes, I see some banknotes listed in the catalog, for example, 10 Pesos/10 Dollars.

Shoud we call this currency “Peso = 1 U.S. Dollar” or similar?

Yes, is a good idea, this would take the currency apart form U.S. Dollar. makes sense. 👍👏
