Not sure how easy/difficult this could be to implement, but it's to stop necroposting. I suggest threads be autolocked if they do not have any new replies after a lengthy amount of time such as several years. saw someone replying to a thread that was about 6 days away from 10 years with no new replies.

A relatively recent change when all threads were unlocked by request with 25 upvotes and 2 downvotes.

Hmm, well perhaps there could be another way to avoid necroposting.

What about when someone is about to post a reply on a thread that hasn't been active for a long time a small pop-up appears that says something like “This thread/topic has been inactive for (time), Are you sure you want to post?” and have it pop-up if the thread is older than a year or two.

I downvote because many suggestions, bugs, and requests are forgotten until someone revives them, and could be useful (others became outdated and should be rejected or accepted, to reduce the lists).

This is a good option.

Another way to prevent someone from answering an old question (I am not referring to suggestions, bugs, or requests) that has already been answered is that the owner of the topic click on the "Solved" button. Maybe the system could ask to the owner if their topic is solved after a long period of inactivity. It is not the owner's fault, but after getting the answer, time passes, and forgets to mark it as solved. For example, these questions are solved but do not have the “Solved” mark:

and so on.
