1818 Coin -George III Shilling? [resuelto]

Hello Oxfam Exeter shop volunteer asking for help again.

We have this coin which I think might be:

N#8476

but the weight is wrong - according to my scales it weighs 4.14 g (not 5.66 g).

Diameter is 23.5 mm - so close enough

 Most likely a forgery. When created over 200 years ago it was no 

doubt all shiny, but after circulating a while the silver coating started to wear off, 

leaving the original copper forgery with just a little silver left on it. 

 So yes the diameter would have to be the same to make it pass that test.

I agree. Once a CCC probably mercuric silvered then worn off thru environmental exposure.
