What is the value of the illustration recommendations in the cards presented HERE in compared to the standards of the catalogues from which the images inserted in the Numista catalogue are derived?
What significant differences in standards are you aware of?
Something seems to get lost in translation I am not sure what this thread is about.
Please write it again in French maybe that is more comprehensible.

From the “Who does What” comment I suspect the issue might be about the last line in the guidelines:
- photographs from users should be preferred over third-party image sources
But that only applies if the pictures have “the same level of detail and eye-appeal”, and the same level of obstructions and equivalent watermarks.
I don't know the original intent, but I see two reasons for the preference for photos from users: 1) It builds a sense of community, and 2) it is less likely there will be a permission issue later.
Edit: But I still have no idea how this compares to “this standards of the catalogues from which the images inserted in the Numista catalogue are derived”. I suspect most catalogs would use the images they took over third party images unless there was a quality benefit.
Ironically, I am having this debate with someone now. The member is requesting to replace members images with those from PCGS. While the PCGS photos are much much better, my opinion is that the members photos should not be replaced in this case. My reasoning for this is because PCGS can be entered into the reference field with a link directly to the same photos. If the photo came from another approved website, that was not a reference too, I would agree to the request. I do agree that the photos are much better I just don’t see what is gained by replacing a members photos with those that are so easily accessible from a link in the references.

Then you contradict guidelines “Only when two images display the same level of detail and eye-appeal”
Not everyone will click on references whereas everyone will see the type photo chosen
When the pic from the member is of acceptable quality, I think it ought not to be replaced by an image from a company or auction house. Having member’s pics is better for the community, imho.

Keyword there is "guide"lines and not rules. I would also argue that someone not looking at the references or the details a page has to offer is also not looking at the main photos closely. They only care only if they have it or they don't. It is a small percentage of the members that take the time to contribute new pages. And I think keeping those members photos should be of higher consideration given the circumstance I described.
Ok then simply suggest we change the guidelines!
I see no value in letting each referee decide alone which guidelines should apply or not in “their” part of Numista, based on their own tastes or habits, as I greatly value collective decision and consistency in the whole catalogue.
Your arguments regarding order of choice are valid and imho should be discussed to see if guidelines should evolve or not :-)
For me “Guidelines for the Numista catalogue”, “Guidelines for the Numista catalogue”, are the rules and standards of Numista to be respected and applied in all its components.

If the guidelines were followed with blind devotion we would not have as many of these debates. And these debates allow Numista to become better.

I love debates, I even suggested to launch a debate about this precise guideline :-)
But in the meantime, I don't think it help Numista to apply personal rules to different parts of the catalogue.
