There is a missing signature for the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/issuing_entity.php?id=850)

There is currently only 1 signature for Mohammad Hossein Adeli, President (1989-1993) when there should be 2, as there are 2 variations of Mr Adeli's signature during his time as president and both were used on notes. They are similar, but the missing signature version has a longer “tail”. Because of the missing signature the catalog is missing some note verities entirely. Requesting another entry of “Mohammad Hossein Adeli, President (1989-1993)” be added with the missing signature variant.

Thanks,

Tony

Hello Tony. I do notice a subtle difference between Adeli's signatures. Below is the one that is registered here at Numista.

Let's try to analyze something: please send me a page from an Iranian banknote that you think is missing this variant. I have doubts about the number of registered users and whether a change in this regard would affect many of us.

The variation is quite small in the signature...

There are only a few note types with varieties that have both signatures as far as I can tell, but on the ones were it is present, it is noticeable.

P140

Long version:

P141

Long version:

The page for P141 already has two line, one for each of the signature versions, with notes in the comments indicating the signature variants. P140 is missing separate variety lines, however.

Hopefully this helps.

Tony

Thanks, Tony. I made the adjustment on page P#141.

Before we include the "long tail" versions on other pages, see which pages should have these two versions and we'll include them carefully, as there are already several users registered for Adeli subscriptions without separation by subscription type. We'll analyze each case individually... help me with this =)

@vladthiengo

I took a look at the other Iran notes, and the only other notes that I can find that bear Mr Adeli's signature are P143, P145, and P146, though all three only use the short version. The aforementioned P140 and P141 look to be the only 2 that have varieties that use both the long and short versions.

Hopefully this helps in making the necessary adjustments.

Tony

Hi Tony.

On page P#141, we already had the distinct lines for Adeli's long and short signatures.

For P#140, after a quick search on the BNM and CGB websites, I understand that the long version of Adeli's signature is accompanied by Noorbakhsh's signature (P#140d); while the short version of Adeli's signature is accompanied by Khan's signature (P#140e). I didn't find any different versions of these two (regarding Adeli's first signature).

So, it seems to me that we just need to include the long version in P#140d. Please see if this matches your research as well. =)

Thanks!

Yes, your recommendation on adding a new line for the long form version of the signature for #140 is what I would recommend, as I am not seeing anything different.

That and adding the long form of the signature to the issuing entity of course :)

Thanks

Actually, it's not about adding a new line. It would just be adjusting the signature template in P#140d (long version). I'll do that now and we have the case solved. =)

Thank you!
