What is this “Brilliant uncirculated”? How does it differ from the “normal” UNC one?

same thing here:

Brillant Uncirculated is simply branding of the mint, they brand it that because they have double struck them or used polished dies or replaced the dies more often than they would have done for the normal uncirculated versions. They the BU coins will be a higher quality probably with mirror finishes in the fields or frosted finishes on the details or both, etc etc…. They would have cost more, maybe, and will almost certainly have come in packaging that states Brilliant Uncirculated on it.

For me it's just marketing gag. Many so called BU set coins don't look any better then normal circulation coins and are sometimes. Yes sometimes they look nice and shiny but other times they are even lightly scratched in the sets so it is definitely not a guarantee for higher “quality”.

Yes maybe I should have used the words „should“ more often, like I said it’s branding for sales purposes. I can’t wait for the Super BU editions 😂
