Hello all,

I have recently bought a coin that I know is from the Byzantine Empire but I am unsure who the emperor is as well as when the coin was made. The lettering is in pretty good shape but I still learning to properly read and transcribe the Greek that is present on it.

Here is the specs:

- Bronze Coin

- Around 16-17mm in diameter

- 2mm in thickness

- 8.43g

Hope to hear what this is!

You can find your first two follises using the search feature in Numista.

1. Go to Byzantine States > Byzantine Empire

2. Beneath the search box click on Add Filters and put in 5-8 for the weight.

3. Hit "Search"

You will be able to quickly scroll through the first page or two, seeing that none of these match your reverse.  Then you will see types with inscriptions on the reverse, and will find yours.

After doing a few, you will find that doing your own search can be even faster than the time it takes to write a nice detailed request like this!
