Hello
New to this completely!
Sorting my grandparents belongings and found this coin.
Can anyone tell me anything about it? Would be interested in its value and potential to sell!
I tried weighing it but its under 1gram.
Thank you :)

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I appreciate you identifying this for me, when searching I never found that description.
I am saddened that you felt the need to reply with this comment though? I was looking for advice from people with more experience than me and I read the forum policy before I posted. I have researched already before posting and part of the research suggested discussing it on a forum as I cant really determine if this is anything special in terms of condition. I dont understand coin grading, I would greatly appreciate any advice.

You asked what that coin is. The answer is that that coin was issued by some lady in the south of British Isles before she put your queen on shopping block. Period 6 pence are sold around 350 euros. You got smaller denomination.

okay well thanks for taking the time to respond and help me identify. I dont think the additional comments are necessary, words can affect people in ways you dont expect and it costs nothing to be kind.

Hey man, don't pay to much attention to people's comments, alot of people prefer to make remarks to get people to ask less questions on here as there is countless entries put in every day across all subjects (Not that the comments are needed as I agree with you).
Best way to do it is to try to get as much of the lettering as you can and place it into quotes in order to narrow your search like this from the coin you found “E · D · G · ROSA · SINE · SPINA” and “CIVITAS LONDON” Even if you place specific words like “ROSA” or “SPINA” into the search engine here, it will come up but it will get everything that has that particular word so give as much detail as possible otherwise you'll get thousands of entries.
Make sure to add other things such as date, composition, possible country, etc. You can also place more filters by clicking on the tags button or placing a minus infront of a word (check the question mark on the search bar when you are looking as that gives proper details).
Oh and one more thing, if you image getting into the hobby long term, definitely invest in scale that can measure in grams as that has been a lifesaver for adding coins to the catalogue or determining the variety of a coin. Amazon or any seller seals them cheaply so you'll find one easy.
I hope this info helps and you'll get the hang of collecting foreign coins, its a pretty expansive field and you'll definitely find some cool ones!
Good Hunting!

Thank you so much for your reply. I appreciate it.
Your advice is very detailed and will really help me sort through the rest of my grandads coin collection, it will also help me post in forums in future which is also something I have never done!
Turns out, from chatting on another forum, that this coin is most likely a replica! Likely sold in museum gift shop :)
Thanks again, you are good people :)
I will just add that the Numista forum is a veritable wealth of information and is searchable. (Thanks cc15, my searches are now more efficient).
Posts in a different language? That little ‘TA’ button will translate. Now how cool is that?
