Numista calls those two varieties by a not correct name “open or closed”

Based on Felix Ekberg's, www.coininfo.se, I have made this documentation using his, in my opinion proper terms, large or small knobs?

What do you think?

Two thoughts:

1. I think there are a lot of coins in Numista with similar type of “knobs” that are called open/closed. You would know better than I.

2. What is this called, "No knob?"

Small knot, imo

To be honest, I prefer the terms “open” and “closed”. That's easier to see than the size of the knob. And when you start focusing and concentrating on the size of the knob you forget to look whether the 6 and 9 are “open” or “closed” although that's much easier to see.

I'll go with the majority…. let's wait a bit?

The descriptions in my swedish catalog (myntarsboken 2022, R. Delzanno) are:

“Öppen 9:a, 6 utan knopp” .. 6 without knop, this is the variant rsirian showed. Also the digits seem higher.

The second variant is desribed:

“Sluten 9:a, 6 med knopp” .. 6 with knop

I would prefer this description: Without/with knop.

I agree with maybe “open/closed 6” added to “with/without knob” for clarity.

Here is what I suggest using both options?

Is this OK with you?

No idea what that means - was that a complaint aimed at me,

I was just pointing out one thing, but yes it is alright now.

hi and please excuse my criticism.

We should use pictures of coins in better condition to get a clear documentation.

At least the numista/heritage picture.

Unfortuately i have only one 5 öre 06 with big knop,  also in poor condition but one of my “open variant” coins is quite good.

In direct comparism:

Please use it, if it can help.

Sorry, Thanks for your help, as usual.

Oh no, not a complaint, I'm just happy about the given help, and thought I would put it in the yellow boxes as well = “all over the place”

Use either "no knobs" or “small knobs” not both. I agree with what you said earlier that small knobs is better.

Thanks,

here it is again

Great documentation again Ole. And the combination of open/close with small/large knobs is the best of both worlds.
