Help identifying old German token: Kaiser Friedrich [resuelto]

Hi everyone,

I found this old medal or token among some coins and I'm trying to identify what it is exactly.

One side has the text:
**"Lerne leiden, ohne zu klagen"**
("Learn to suffer without complaining")

The other side has a portrait and the text:
**"Kaiser Friedrich"** (second?)

There is a hole at the top, so it may have been worn as a pendant. I would appreciate any information on its origin, purpose, and possible value.

Thank you in advance!

There are countless similar trinkets (LINK).

It's Friedrich the 3rd who ruled only for 99 days in 1888. It was supposedly his personal motto because of his suffering disease of throat cancer.

Thank you for the helpful reply! That makes perfect sense now – I took another close look and realized the lines I thought were numerals are actually part of the letter "H" in "FRIEDRICH." Appreciate the clarification!
