Do you mean value as in you can exchange it for X amount of Dollars/other currency or highest face as in amound of zeroes?

If the first, I'll like to overbid your Swizz 5 Francs with a bit of a grey area coin;

N#14007

It isn't yet demonitised, but I don't think it may not follow your criteria you are looking for, being a activ circulating, right? 🤔

For lowest exchangeable value I have never tought about that 🤓

I have a soft spot for origami paper cranes.

Yeaaa, I found a new leader in highest-denomination coin

The criteria is that it shouldn't be a NCLT & it should be a legal tender and must have been in general circulation

I mean in exchanging them for other currencies but the highest face value is also welcome😄

The Uzbeki 1 Tiyin is always mentioned. It's also far younger then the Pya.

The Uzbeki 1 Tiyin is always mentioned. It's also far younger then the Pya.

But it was demonetized on March 1, 2020

  1.  Search “list of least valuable currencies”
  2. Search these countries with “In use in: now”
  3. Look at the least valuable coin

Interesting

But unfortunately, it doesn't fit into the criteria of “must have been in general circulation

I still will regard the 1000 Japanese Yen as the crown holder

Definitely the lowest denomination coin ever to be circulated, which reminds me of that I made a list in 2021 to kill where I made a chart of the highest, and lowest stuff about coins and I included this coin as the Lowest Denomination Coin Ever Circulated

I try to find that sheet and post it here (Wish me luck)

Nope, these coins are issued for metal value, like all circulating gold coins throughout history.
