I'm a member of the Madison County Coin Club of Huntsville, Alabama. Our club has medals made in our past to celebrate our 10th and 20th anniversaries. The second one was minted by Daniel Carr’s Moonlight Mint and can be seen at: N#385120 .
We are also having him mint one for us for 2024.
I was wondering what other small clubs have produced medals.
the "Sociedad Numismatica del Perú" made some nice anniversary medals, like this one from 1976 in 0.925 silver , designed and engraved by Armando Pareja (if I'm not wrong); the medal was minted by Casa de Moneda de Lima
And the “Asociación Numismática de Chile” (ANUCH) made one medal in copper in 2005 for its 20th anniversary; the medal was minted by Casa de Moneda de Santiago.
Two years before that, ANUCH asked the Casa de Moneda de Santiago to mint a trimetalic medal for its members; this medal -designed and engraved by the Casa de Moneda staff- was a kind of experiment for them, and was sponsored by the ANUCH. (60 pieces were minted).
The ordering deadline for the 2024 Madison County Coin Club medals is Thursday November 30, 2024. You can learn more about these medals at http://mccc.anaclubs.org/ .
The Numismatic Society of Auckland issued a medal for the King's coronation this year.
They featured busts of the first two King Charles and Westminster Abbey. Issued in Copper, Rhodium and Silver - I bought a silver and a copper. Although desined by us, the medals were minted overseas. Generous size being over 40mm each.
I also have a medal from the club, long before I was member or even alive!
Our society was known merely as a coin club then. The bronze medal shows One Tree Hill, with the lone pohutukawa tree foully chopped down by a crazed halfwit in 1995 (Some Maori activist nonsense) and a map of New Zealand with the southern cross. Amazed with the condition of this 57 year old piece, also 43mm in size.
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

The Madison County Coin Club also had 50 copper medals minted by Mr. Carr of the Moonlight Mint. There were 4 error medals produced -- two in silver and two in copper. You can see them all at the club's website http://mccc.anaclubs.org/. Here is a copper one:

Hi there, I have just purchased a bronze founding medal, but mine has a NZ sixpence embedded in the upper half of the map side. Can you shed any light on this? I will post a photo of it when I learn how.
