Hello! Many thanks to all of you who will help me to identify & evaluate this medal/token for the good safe life of sailors (I think!).

35mm. ; 10.12g. ; unknown metal: non-magnetic, silvered aspect but it seems not to be silver.

Legends are in latin.

Please, the item's age & who minted it!? Value?!

Andi

Have a nice day.

Here you will find all the answers.  Kremnice mint - I was there.

You can find yours here too:

Hi Ivan

Hi,Ivan! Thanks for your prompt reply and good help! You have shown the type of my item but I found out that there are a lot of variants of the token,in weights & metals, through the centuries: 4g. to 26g. tokens, different diameters and metals….

However,I didn't find my 10.1g. token(I think this is not of great importance)…

BUT,can you tell me if it is possible to determine aprox. the token's age (from 1600 to our days, this type was continously minted)?

And its possible collectible value?

Thanks again!

Have a nice day once again.

Yes, the coinage really kind of started in 1600 for the sailors of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy to protect them at sea, however, the mint changed metals sporadically and minted tokens and medals regularly.

What can I tell you (but keep it to yourself - don't tell anyone)  ,, so gold is more expensive than silver and at the end are brass and copper,,

Humor my🤑

Seriously: I sent it to Portugal to a collector here for free as a SWAP souvenir, no value for me, there are a lot of them here.

For your safety, because even here there are strangely few variants, do not hesitate to contact the experts at the museum in Kremnica.

There are good and above all knowledgeable, and proud numismatists who know this coinage in detail:

Write to them on the website and they will definitely get back to you, especially if you put your questions into Slovak through a translator.
