I was told it was an unknown vareity, why? On the above link there are 15 types of this coin. Each has a number of chinese characters, I assume that these characters are on the coins. Mine seems identical to the one shown.
Grateful for help
Japanese currencies are hell to be determined
they are simple variations in the characters
yours is one of the easiest because the "foot" of the characters on the left touch the hole
If you want to know more of the Old Japanese currencies, you need the Hartill's guide : Early Japanese coins
exciting but very complicated because they are tiny variations

I am glad that I now know which one it is. I also now understand that it is small variations in the characters. I will now try to learn some more about these coins. For some reason I find Japanese coins and symbols fascinating.
Thank you.

if you want to swap some I will be happy
Thank you, I would like to do it, but I feel I first must study Japanese coins. I have not swaped due to the extreemly expensive postage here in Denmark and my lack of knowlege of the Numista Swap program. When I decide to swap I will definitly contact you. I am glad for your offer and thanks again for help. Hilsen Niels 🙂
