Unfortunately Gixen has limited to two free auctions per month so I'm looking for an other free website.

Didn't realise this is a thing -  shill bidding!!

Interesting

It's widely used and can save a lot of money.

It isn't shill biding .. You just decide how much you want to bid on an item and at what time you want to place the bid. If yours is the highest earliest bid you win. If you have a lower later bid you lose.

Works very well for me.

Screenshot of my latest wins .. and one I lost.

@brismike is correct.

“Shill bidding” means you are the consigner bidding against your own item to drive the price up.   Usually it is cloaked by the anonymity that is practiced in today's blind online auction format (-we don't know/see who we're bidding against) so I suspect shill bidding happens much more than we realize.  Some of the big auction houses seem to endorse shill bidding in their terms & conditions (I encourage you to read them!)

Acting as a “sniper” in any timed auction means you are bidding in the last few seconds before the auction time is up.

This is all new to me.
