I'm just curious who else here has pets and what they are. I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and a Cardigan Welsh Corgi.Piper pembroke

No pets. However these two cats have adopted me and my neighbour.

'Garfield'
'Hitler'

All pictures taken a few hours ago - the first two by my front door, the last two by my back door.
Garfield arrived last year, nobody knows where from, and he is maybe eight years old -
my neighbour bought a wooden cat kennel plus a waterproof cover. There are blankets and
foil bedding to keep him warm. As I leave around 5:45 in the morning he hears my door open and
I walk across the driveway and put food on his plate, and there is a bowl of water also next to it.
Hitler arrived a few days ago, again not known where from - especially as he looks to be only a few
months old. He lives in a cat kennel in the back garden, and always runs up to my neighbour's back door
when she opens it. She already has a cat 'Periwinkle' of her own, and I think the two get along.
She even a few days ago tucked the kitten in the top of her jacket and walked down the lane next to
our building and asked everyone around here if they had lost a kitten, but nobody had.

Up until a few weeks ago, I had an American Bobtail I named "Password" (pet owners get the pun).

A two-year old, feral cat with no tail adopted me on a very, cold night last winter. My landlord said her "allergies" were a problem (even though I had a cat for the first 3 years with no problems, go figure?). My Ex graciously took him in and I am actively looking for other accommodations, as I miss him more than I could have imagined.

regular tuxedo that I adopted from the shelter in may last year. First pet I’ve ever had. He’s an absolute darling. Billy Pancake Habibi, or just BiBi
all beautiful pets
This little guy adopted me on December 22. He appeared at a friend’s farm overnight but the 3 cats he had were chasing him around and I volunteered to take him to a shelter. Never got to the shelter with him though, I stopped at home to give him some water and a can of tunafish and as soon as I opened the door of the critter carrier he stepped out and sat on my foot(claiming me as his human). I took him to the vet yesterday because he was scratching his ears and cleaning only helped for a day or two. They wanted to know his name so he is now named Tommy.
I am also mildly allergic to cats but it helps for cleaning the litter box because I can’t smell it.
I have got two Ragdoll Cats. Nala is the female and Simba is the male. My wife and I took them in when the lady who owned them could not look after them anymore. That was about six years ago.

Here they are at my front door in Brisbane looking out at a Kangaroo that came up to the door to eat some grass on my lawn. Nala on the left. He was a pretty big Kangaroo and they just watched him for a while.

Yes we do get Kangaroos walking down suburban streets in Australia.

Here they are having a snooze on the cat tree.

We also take them to our Unit on the Gold Coast where they have the best view of any Cat in Queensland ...

That tall building in the background is the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. Q1 Tower at 322.5 metres tall.

As you can see these two cats are spoilt rotten.

Have a nice day.
My wife and I fled our adult sons from an apartment in the city to the mountains -to the cottage - a house with a large garden and close to the woods. The former owner had 3 horses - a riding school and a riding parkour in the garden. I gradually tried the hens, the pig-Vietnamese loose in the paddock in the garden and finally the sheep grazed I gave everything away and I was left with two cats MIMI and Garfild and dog.
And that's a darling, he mainly guards his owner's coin collections.
At the city market called ,, koruna ,, (crown) there was a guy with a girl and they sold puppies for 300 CZK (13 $) the puppy put his paw on my wife's hand-my wife took him in her arms and said I wouldn't give up, so i paid.

Hence the name: Elsa von Krone ( from the crown)- Labrador Retriever

I'm just a collector of coins, not a slave to it, unless I am in a coin shop.

I have a female Akita in home (no photos sorry).

But until a few days ago we had more animals in home. A bird made a nest in the front of the home, and the mother and grown fledglings flew away last wednesday.

How terrible! My sincerest condolences. It’s so hard to say goodbye.

You have my condolences too.

Here in home we got happier news.

This year that bird nest is less emptier than usual. Normally it stays completely empty between January and September, but this year another bird of the same species appeared, took possession of the nest and had an out of season brood in April. And she returned last week, so we are expecting more 2 little birds by the end of the month (as they take approximately 20 days to hatch).

thx and thx slip we have bluebirds who every year for the past 20 years have been making a nest in out nesting jar on our porch every year and sometimes even more than once a year which is odd because bluebirds are usually not so keen making their nests so close to humans

I think that the same applies to hummingbirds, they're very skittish in relation to humans. The hummingbird at home easily gets in “alert mode” if you come too close, and I need to come close as the switch of the outside lights is very near the nest. With practice it's possible to turn on/off the lights without scaring her, the key is being slow and making no sudden moves .

By the way, that's our bird: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swallow-tailed_hummingbird

Update from my previous post: the eggs have hatched.

When I arrived home with my father today after work, the mother bird was away, so I asked him to try to get photos of the eggs. But there were no eggs, there were two tiny newly hatched birds.

(No photos here; since the nest is in a difficult spot to reach the camera is hard to focus and the photos ended blurred, in the end it was just to look at the current situation on the nest)

After a Belgian shepherd and a Newfoundland who will always remain in our hearts, it is now a cat who came, dying of hunger and illness, to knock on our door. And my goodness, he has been well taken care of, now what he prefers, after catching all kinds of animals in the garden, is watching TV from behind.

A farm cat, but also a dog - imagine opening your eyes in the morning and this is what you see, and very often from that close as well..

Hello

Here is the new dog  Oslo

when we just have it

It's a Dobermann

and here it is with 22 kilos more

and is only 8 month…

not sure to have a place on the couch soon

Forgot to update but this is our new dog after Piper died that we got a year and a half ago. Her name is Hazel, she is a cardigan corgi and has a blue merle with tan points coat.

I adopted this torbie 4 months ago from the SPCA. Her name was Tabitha and she was found pregnant hiding in a back garden. It turned out she had been owned, abused and thrown out when she was pregnant by some reprobate in South Auckland. Or at the best she was a “yard” or “barn” cat.

She was given an abortion and spayed and put out to adoption. When I got her, they claimed she was just over a year old.

August - 8 to 10 months - she still had kitten teeth

The vet said she was actually 8 to 10 months old and I believe looking at these photos from August. I changed her name to Tallulah as Tabitha sounds like something people who have never own anything beyond a yard or barn cat. Also it sounds elegant and camp and I can call her Lula for short (Apparently Lula and Lulabelle were popular racist jazz era names of around 1930).

Anyway a very energetic and youthful cat, she is proving hard to get affectionate with. I love her, but she is not a lap cat, hates being picked up or touched in anyway (Although she is slowly getting better, hard for me as my last cat was the total opposite, she was a furry tote bag!). This is compounded by the fact she is the cutest animal I have ever owned. Her fur feels gossamer smooth (Like everyone and thingelse in my life, she obsessed with personal hygiene). She has the sweetest purr you have ever heard and hardly ever meows and when she does its the cutest little “squeak” meow you have ever heard.

But she does love me and follows me around, plays at my feet, hops on the bed and snuggles me occasionally - yet never a lap cat and I picked her up and carried her, I would look like a boiled egg sitting on a mandoline.

Photos now - You can see how much she has grown - I guess she is around 14 months now.

Yet every day she gets a bit better and more tolerant, she is less destructive (My Christmas tree is by one of her beds and it has survived so far), and she is thriving under my care, a neighbourhood cat twice her size and fights and clobbers her, but now she is getting the upper hand and is the same size as her. I weighed her at 3.4kg in September, but can't now as she would stay still long enough (Vaccinations and flea shots are a nightmare). Yet she is a torbie, described as the red haired step child of the cat family.

This cat and I are in for the longhaul (Sounds of zooming cat and cat fighting from the neighbour cat).

I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.
