Descripción

This 2009 BU Set of coins was minted by The Perth Mint in Perth, Western Australia and issued by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand & New Zealand Post. The set was packaged in a blister type folding coincard and was inserted in a slipcase.

The set contains five standard definitive coins, 10c, 20c, 50c, $1 & $2.

The NCLT $5 coin is celebrating the Kakapo bird, also called the owl parrot, which is a species of large, flightless, nocturnal, ground-dwelling parrot of the super-family Strigopoidea, endemic to New Zealand. It has finely blotched yellow-green plumage, a distinct facial disc, a large grey beak, short legs, large feet, and relatively short wings and tail.
