Descripción

This 1997 BU Set of coins was minted by The Royal Mint in Llantrisant and issued by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. The set was packaged in a blister type folding coincard and was inserted in a slipcase.

The set contains six standard definitive coins, 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, $1 & $2.

The NCLT $5 coin is celebrating the Saddleback Bird which was once widespread in the North and South Islands of New Zealand. Towards the end of last century the species declined rapidly, surviving only on Hen Island, off the eastern coast of Northland, and a few islands off Stewart Island.
