This 1985 BU Set of coins was minted by The Royal Australian Mint in Canberra and issued by the New Zealand Government Treasury. It was issued in a Mustard Colour plastic wallet.

The set contains six standard definitive coins. 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c & 50c.

This was the last New Zealand BU Set with the Arnold Machin 2nd portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the Obverse.

The NCLT $1 coin is commemorating the Black Stilt or Kakī bird, a wading bird found in New Zealand. It is one of the world's rarest birds, with 169 adults surviving in the wild as of May 2020.
